Energy generation can help expand or create new natural areas. The construction of a solar park creates opportunities to improve the site’s ecological values. Each solar park is designed on the basis of a landscape integration plan, with close attention to preserving and enhancing nature and biodiversity.

We attach great importance to engagement from the surrounding community, including in the form of participation. Negative perceptions about installing solar parks are often the result of a lack of such engagement.

Through participation, the local community and other stakeholders are given the opportunity to actively contribute ideas, take part in decision-making, and also participate in a solar park. In this way, alongside good landscape and ecological integration of the solar park, added value is created for the community and broad shared support is built.

Responsible development of a solar park values topics such as landscape, biodiversity, and integration into the surroundings. At Solar Proactive, a solar park often forms part of area development, a transformation, or a redevelopment within a given area. The focus is therefore not only on the solar park; in this setup the solar park is part of an integrated solution—for example, in the redevelopment of land, the reconfiguration of natural areas, or the creation of an energy landscape for a municipality to achieve climate-neutral goals.

We examine the effects of solar parks on planning processes. Combining solar energy generation with area development is a win-win. Beyond opportunities in planning, we also seek collaboration with local energy cooperatives.
